To Add a New Company
1. Open the File menu from the Sage Line 50 menu bar and choose New Company.
If you have password protection on your existing company, you are asked to enter this before you can proceed.
The New Company wizard appears.
2. Enter or amend the following details then click Next.
3. From the option buttons provided, select the type of new company installation you require. You can choose between the following:
Create Data Files For A New Company and Upgrade Data From An Old Company
To continue, click Next, then enter the data path to your old program directory.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new company and complete your conversion.
4. In the boxes provided, enter the name and address of your new company, then click Next.
5. In the boxes provided, enter your financial year details as follows, then click Next.

The wizard appears showing the financial year details you have just entered.
6. If the details are correct, click Next. If you wish to change the financial month or year, click Back.
Important Note: It is important that you enter these details correctly.
The next page of the wizard appears for you to set your system defaults.
7. Use the following check boxes to indicate your system defaults;

The next page of the wizard appears, for you to enter the nominal account structure you require.
8. You can either install the Sage Line 50 default nominal account structure, or you can create your own.
If you want to install the Sage Line 50 default, select the Default Nominal Account Structure option button and then choose the Next button to continue.
If you wish to create your own structure, select the Own Nominal Account Structure option button, then choose the Next button to continue.
9. Select the appropriate option button to indicate the VAT scheme you require for your new company.
Sage Line 50 handles VAT in two ways: Standard VAT Accounting and VAT Cash Accounting. Select the check box (a cross appears when it is selected). If you require your VAT Return for this company to be calculated on a VAT Cash Accounting basis, i.e. calculated from the input and output VAT amounts you actually receive and pay, rather than those amounts you have invoices for.
10. Click Next.
The information you have entered for your new company appears.
If the information displayed is correct, click Finish.
If it is not correct, you can either click Back to amend the information, or you can click Finish to install the company and then amend the information using the appropriate Defaults option from within your new program.
A message appears confirming the new company installation is complete, and that you are now in the new company, ready for processing data.
11. To return to the Sage Line 50 window, click OK.
You have now successfully installed your new company, and are ready to start setting up your system.
Now, when you run your Sage Line 50 program from the Program Manager, the Select Company window appears. Select the company you require from this list then click OK to continue.
